CATS IN THE COMMUNITY
Being apart of the Columbus Cats AFC goes far beyond just playing a sport - it’s about building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community. The club promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, and important life skills like teamwork, discipline, and leadership. We strive to create a welcoming space where people of all ages, backgrounds, physical abilities can come together to form lasting friendships and feel a true sense of belonging. For the wider community, The Columbus Cats play a key role in encouraging volunteerism and fostering local pride. Through games, events, and a shared passion, the club helps strengthen community ties and supports the local spirit.

The Grandview Hop has been a fun way for us to connect with locals over the years, support the neighborhood and raise funds to keep the club growing both on and off the field. Being amongst the community is something that is truly important to us as a club.

When the club came together to raise nearly $5,000 for Australian Wildfire Relief it was about more than just the money - it was a powerful expression of empathy, solidarity, and heart. Seeing the devastation from afar and choosing to act showed the kind of club we are: one that cares deeply, not just for our teammates but for the wider world. In times of crisis, community matters more than ever - and this effort proved that even from the other side of the globe, we can stand with those who are suffering. It was a reminder that sport brings people together, and together, we can make a real difference.
