OHAFL Round 1 @ Cincinnati

Our OHAFL Metro League will be kicking off this season in Cincinnati. This match falls on the date of Anzac Day (An Australian Holiday) therefore there will be some form of celebration for that, concluding the game. OHAFL (which is separate from the USAFL official games) is a great way for new people who are interested in the sport to come and check out. It is a way in which we promote USAFL and AFL as a general sport within Ohio. These matches are more or less “local” matches and tend to be lower intensity. If you are interested in participating this is a great way to begin. These games do count towards Nationals.

Following preparations from the pre season, this is the first of three rounds of the OHAFL competition, which was created in 2025 to grow the game in the Buckeye State.

Teams include:

Columbus Cats

Cleveland Cannons

Cincinatti Docker

and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.

Field Location will be posted soon.

Chicago @ Columbus Home Game

For our FIRST official game of the season, Chicago will be traveling down to Cats home territory. We always look forward to playing Chicago. We will be looking for revenge after the swans took the chocolates in the day 2 matchup at Nationals in 2025. The Cats and the Swans split the 2025 2-2, with each side winning at home and the Cats taking the MidWest Cup in 2025, (which we hope to retain this year). That will make it even more important for the Cats to come out firing for the 2026 opener.

More Details to come!

OHAFL Round 3 @ Cleveland

June will close the final leg of the OHAFL competition in Cleveland. The mid-season USAFL Central/Eastern Super Regionals near Minneapolis-St Paul (Woodbury), Minnesota will take place on July 11th, with the Columbus Cats’ level of participation to be determined. However, regardless of whether the full team travels, those that make the trip will get a near-Nationals level playing experience.

Columbus @ Chicago Hendrie Cup

In honor of an important late member of the Chicago Swans who passed in 2022, comes the Hendrie Cup. In 2025, the Cats played a friendly at the Swans and, in 2024, the Nashville Kangaroos also played in a friendly at the Swans in honor of Anthony Hendrie. Thus, it is quite likely that the Kangaroos will also be at the event in addition to the Cats and the Swans, as well as other nearby clubs such as the Minnesota Freeze or members of the Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati Clubs.
